We were in Dubai in January 2012, at the Auris First Central Hotel Suites.

I really want to squeal and jump with happiness and overwhelming emotions - the rest was fabulous! Every day brought new and new impressions! And I want to chaotically, interrupting myself on every letter, to convey to you all the emotions, but I pull myself together and try to systematize everything.

Maybe someone will find this story useful.

The hotel is new and very nice. Rooftop pool, steam room, gym and restaurant. There is free Wi-Fi and two free computers in the lobby.

We had a two-room suite - a living room and a bedroom. There were three of us, two of us slept in the bedroom on a large bed, and I in the living room on an extra bed. All the girls went and asked for separate beds, but the hotel turned out that there were no rooms with separate beds. They offered to remove the double bed and bring two extra beds, but we refused.

The room has a full kitchen - a hob for two burners, a sink, a microwave oven, an electric kettle, a refrigerator. There are two saucepans and two frying pans, plates, cups, spoons, knives, forks, a cutting board. No dishcloth, no detergent. But the cleaner washes the dishes, he comes with his detergent and washcloth.

We left him either 5 dirhams or 1 dollar for diligence. He cleaned up very well.

Tea, coffee, cream, sugar, napkins and various bath soaps and shampoos are brought as they are eaten)

There is a washing machine, but nowhere to dry clothes. In the bathroom, a flimsy string is pulled out from under the towel rack.

There is an iron and ironing board. There is a safe. There are many mirrors, but none of them has an outlet near it, except for an outlet for an electric shaver. Speaking of sockets, our electrical appliances need an adapter, the hotel does not provide it. It is sold in supermarkets and costs 12 dirhams.

No bathrobes, hair dryer.
The slippers were brought alone when they brought the bed to the third bed. Bedding is changed every other day, towels every day.

Water was supplied to the room only on the first day. Two bottles, even though there were three of us)

The view of the room is very decent, everything is new, everything is in oriental style, a lot of pillows, iron lamps - both electric and for candles. But it’s dark, even if you gouge out your eye) Either the lamps are so intimate, or they save electricity. Very beautiful TV, but there is not a single Russian channel.

There is a lot of space in the closet, but there are not enough hangers, about six.

There is a folding chair in the bedroom.

Very good windows. Construction is noisy around (in Dubai construction is everywhere), but when the windows are closed, nothing is heard.

The room has wired internet. Paid.

Food. The food is average scall even for me, absolutely picky in food. But you can eat, you can even eat for half a day) Who loves buns, that expanse, there are pastries, and various jams, and butter.

But I like to eat unsweetened in the morning, and apart from sausages, scrambled eggs and tomatoes with cucumbers, there is nothing to eat. Sausages are generally terrible, but you can eat an omelet) There is always feta and olives, I mixed them with tomatoes and cucumbers, poured them with oil and got a salad. Sometimes the salad was ready. Rarely, but there are stewed vegetables, very tasty. Once there was porridge, in my opinion wheat, also nothing. They give some more beans in sauce, I didn’t dare to try them.

From sweets, in addition to buns, they give fruits, fruit salad and dried fruits, yogurts. They also give juices, milk and some cereals.

The first three days we had breakfast by the pool. By the pool, in the sun, of course, delight, it doesn’t even matter WHAT is, it’s important WHERE)) Then, either there were fewer people, or the weather deteriorated, but we were transferred downstairs. Downstairs, on floor G, the restaurant and cafe are in the same room. If breakfast is included, then food and drinks are free, but not those presented in the cafe.
Coffee for breakfast, for example, is instant, and natural in a cafe.

Under the windows of the restaurant, next to the entrance to the hotel, there are a couple of tables where you can drink coffee in the fresh air and the hotel Wi-Fi gets there)

Again, keep in mind that everything is free. But no one forbids just sitting there)

The food is not in the hotel. In the city there is a network of "restaurants" Golden Fork, there is very tasty food, always very fresh seafood and fish, but the surroundings are poor, it looks like a Soviet canteen. It is better to take food with you. They put them in trays. The portions are very large, one portion can be eaten by three) The nearest fork from the hotel is located at the next metro stop, towards the center. I'm afraid to make a mistake, but in my opinion the station is called Sharaf.

In addition to the fork, there are many delicious establishments, I would especially note the Carluchios cafe in the Dubai Mall, the food is very tasty, not very expensive.
The cafe is far from luxury, but it has a terrace right on the embankment, where fountains dance and sing. I especially recommend waving soup (mushroom) for 32 dirhams, it is very, very tasty.

Taxi drivers can hardly find this hotel (like many others in the city)), so you need to take a card to the reception. It is also desirable to attribute on this card that the hotel Byblos is located nearby, taxi drivers know it.

Many have already written, but I will repeat: sand-colored state taxis with a colored roof. They are inexpensive and always work on the meter. White Lexuses are taxis from hotels, they charge an impossible price. Even if you ask the driver to turn on the meter, then it will already have 7 dirhams, no less. From the hotel to the Emirates Mall on the counter 12-13 dirhams (and the Lexus took us for 25). The same goes for the monorail.

To Dubai mall 38-42 dirhams.
It is very convenient to take a taxi in the Dubai Mall - there is an underground parking lot, where taxis go in a continuous stream, and two traffic controllers quickly distribute passengers to cars.

Mobile connection. We bought local SIM cards so as not to get lost. Simka costs 55 dirhams, there are 35 on the account. But somehow tricky - 25 for calls around the world and 10 for calls in Dubai. I do not understand English very well, of course, maybe I was mistaken. When I flew away, I checked the account, I still had 5 dirhams, and I called very often. I did not call abroad, I had a second phone in roaming.

I especially want to emphasize that in Dubai, a SIM card will not be sold without a passport! I did not know and returned to the hotel for a passport.

What to see in Dubai.

There are many places in Dubai that do not yet exist, but the media have already written about them) For example, the construction of the famous “revolving” house has not even begun yet, and its photos have spread all over the Internet.
There is no Trump tower yet, although its photos are also replicated shamelessly) There is no underwater hotel. There are no palm islands - Jebel Ali Palms and Deira Palms. There is only palm Jumeirah. Or they are carefully hidden from tourists)

I was going to see a lot, but limited myself to the standard list:

1. Mall of the Emirates (it is very beautiful, it is worth seeing and it has a famous ski slope that can be seen through the glass)

2. Mall Dubai. It has a huge aquarium. And in general, a lot of things)

3. Khalifa tower. Observation deck on the 124th floor. It costs 100 dirhams (buy tickets in advance). They sell a telescope there for 25 dirhams, we took it and were disappointed. He does not “telescopic” anything, the feeling is that the picture was taken in advance.

4. Fountains. Fountains are a delight, but for some reason not everyone catches. I recommend watching the fountains, not photographing, then it is perceived more and more. Then, for the twenty-fifth time, you can take a picture)

5. Safari.
I didn’t intend to at all, the girls dragged me in by force) It’s very scary and very cool. When you stand in the desert, you look at the reddish dunes, you feel like a grain of sand, you feel all the greatness of nature. When the sun sets, they bring to the "Bedouin" village (pavilions and a stage built especially for tourists) and feed and entertain. Nice, but the desert itself is more impressive.

6. Atlantis. This is a three-in-one entertainment - a monorail ride, a water park and an aquarium in Atlantis. The aquarium is very chic, themed, much more impressive than the aquarium in the Dubai Mall. The water park itself is very beautiful, just heaven on earth. I would recommend counting on the whole day - and take pictures, and roll on the slides, and soak up the lazy river, and visit the aquarium. In the evening there is a long queue for taxis. It's better to take the monorail.

7. Abu Dhabi. Although Abu Dhabi and the capital, there is nothing special to see there. Or so they showed us.
There is only one must-see in Abu Dhabi - the Sheikh Zayed White Mosque. That's very beautiful. But you need to go not with a tour for $ 70, so that you are driven in the back, but by yourself on a bus for 20 dirhams. True, I don’t know how to get inside there, they drove us by bus to a certain place, they didn’t let us go there on foot. And you need to take into account that prayer begins at 12 in the mosque, at 11.50 you must leave.

8. Gold souk. Gold market. Even those who are not going to buy gold are simply obliged to go there in order to tell their great-grandchildren about the innumerable riches of the East)) There are many gold markets, I'm talking about the old market near Creek Bay. Not only gold is sold there, souvenirs are also sold there at the lowest prices in Dubai. It is necessary to bargain and bargain hard) You can bring down from 30 to 60 percent of the initial cost.

9. Walk on a water taxi.

From very authoritative sources, I learned that only on Friday and only at 11 am, a water taxi departs from the pier in Dubai Marina along an unusual route. It goes around the palm island and, instead of turning back, continues on its way to Creek Bay. There is also a pier there. The ticket costs 50 and 70 dirhams. For 70 there will be a gold class, but it's not worth it, because the most interesting thing happens on the open deck. The boat is about two hours on the road, passes close to Atlantis, the Mir archipelago, Burj Al Arab (Sail). Skyscrapers look very interesting from the water. It seems that they are standing on the very shore, I recalled the film "The Beginning" with DiCaprio, his fictional world was similar) At about one o'clock in the afternoon, the boat arrives at the pier of Creek Bay, where, if you are interested, for 1 dirham you can ride in a dilapidated boat on the other side of the bay. This is where the gold market begins.
The only pity is that on Friday the market starts to work only from 16:00. You can return back to the Marina for 50 dirhams along the same route.

10. Metro. It seems like the metro and the metro, what to try it)), but believe me, this is an unusual metro. I mean the segment that is above the ground. The subway has shared carriages, a women-only carriage and a gold class. We took the gold class, there is a panoramic windshield and seats like in an airplane) It costs 20 dirhams per person from the hotel (Dubai Internet City) to Dubai Mall, round trip. We didn’t have the strength to drag ourselves back on the subway, so the tickets disappeared)

11. Dubai Marina. This area deserves a separate stop. If you decide to sail on a boat, then come to the pier in advance and take a walk along the embankment. There are few pedestrian zones in Dubai, and especially few open cafes. Marina has it all.

I understand that we saw very little, we only had eight days, but I hope that the trip was not the last.
I will wait until they build all the miracles and come again)

Probably because we arrived in winter, we rested at a very low price - 800 dollars for each, including flights, visas, breakfasts. Considering the wonderful hotel and apartments, this is almost nothing. We also spent a little on excursions and meals, it also turned out to shop, since a shopping festival is held in Dubai from January 5 to February 5. But to soak up the beach did not work. A cold wind blows from the sea, if you can still swim, then you can’t sunbathe) You can swim and sunbathe in the pool, but it’s boring) And from January 21 it became very cold in general and we put on jackets.

Flight. We flew back and forth with Fly Dubai, these are budget airlines. The plane is cramped and not fed. That is, they feed, but for money and hamburgers with cola)). But then there are monitors in each seat, there is music, games, information about the flight (free of charge), movies and TV shows (for a fee).

You can buy headphones from the flight attendant or listen through your own. Connector is standard.

Might have missed something. Ask who is interested.

Dubai is the most beautiful city on earth. Every day in Dubai is a delight. If you have not forgotten how to enjoy life, of course)

I will definitely go back there!
