11 hours in Dubai
Dubai 2014
< br />
Sleep on the previous day did not work out a bit, and we flew in at night. After 17 hours of almost no sleep, another 11 hours of beautiful Dubai awaited us.
02:30 At first, it was necessary to go between the terminals, then to get a stamp and scan the retina to get out, then arrange for the delivery of things and a snack.
( Collapse )
04:00 In an hour and a half, we finally overcame the organizational task and rushed in an expensive taxi to the financial center-center to the World Trade Center metro station, where the familiar sweet smell of Asian air filled our lungs. < br />
From the subway, we walked towards the largest skyscraper in the world.
It is immediately clear that the city is expensive, skyscrapers are real design masterpieces. Some even stand in pairs to complement the design idea. In a bright transparent skyscraper, someone was descending on an elevator. Since the Burj Khalifa is the tallest in the world, we had no difficulty figuring out which way to go.
< br />
The night was a bit chilly for summer clothes, and the merciless sun was peacefully sleeping. At first we doubted whether it made sense to walk around the night business center, but when we were there, we realized that we had done the right thing. At the end of the route, a surprise awaited us - a gigantic multi-lane-multi-level transport interchange, we have not seen anything like it yet. The task was to cross it diagonally to the most opposite point. We made our way in the most honest and dishonest ways, on the way we even dropped into the market and made ourselves a snack. The oncoming Arab was asked how to get to the Burj Khalifa, to which the Arab rolled his eyes, asked again if we were on the top and said that it would be better for us to fly than go on foot. But having laughed heartily with us, he showed us the right path. Having made our way into some kind of parking lot on the elevator, we ended up in a huge shopping center, and after that, having overcome a considerable maze, we began to find clusters of tourists walking in the direction of the desired elevator.
06:00Predetermining the time of dawn here and buying tickets online here we went through the reception.
< br />
By the way, there were no more places to buy tickets on the spot. We ended up in a dark tunnel with a slowly moving horizontal path. Around interactive walls with an interesting installation. First there were deserts, then the shadows of people developing the nation, then scientific progress and boundless space. Due to the system of built-in mirrors, each change of topic was very unusual and extended over the entire wall just for you. Calm music in the background added an unusual effect. Then, having passed the halls of the history of the building, we went into the elevator. The elevator began to rush at a speed of 10 meters per second. And the backlight began to scatter along the walls, flying along with you in light waves. “Windows” displays are installed in the walls of the elevator, which show how, starting from the sands, you rise to the very sky, getting into outer space, passing constellations and getting even higher - to the top of the world, at that moment the floor counter showed us that we are 128 th floor. All Dubai was at our feet, and the unconvinced sun began to lazily rise from the desert depths. A warm breeze enveloped us. There are special gaps in strong glasses so that you can even stick your head out over the city. In any case, we have found just such an application.
< br />
There are also computer displays on the roof that show the induced terrain in real time in three modes “Night”, “Daytime” and the most interesting “Historical”, that is, everything you point at, you see how it was before, before the city was built. If you hover over the skyscraper, you can only see dunes and small houses in its place, you can click on various objects with your finger and see their description.
07: 00We walk near the skyscraper, along the huge pool. Then we go by taxi to the Dubai Marina area.
< br />
I’m driving in a car, thoughts are rolling in warm waves, consciousness is leaving... I open my eyes, and the meters are already 100 UAH more) The area consists of cafes, a river-channel and a large cluster of skyscrapers. The city begins to wake up, it is already light and a little warm, the sun is bright, but for some reason it is not hot yet. Wandered, walked around the area, very beautiful and not boring. The shops have microwaves, so the food you buy can be warmed up immediately. The store we went to sold Ukrainian yogurt and a bunch of Russian products. Having refreshed ourselves with buns at the tables of a cafe that has not yet opened, we inhaled the sweet smell of Asia. After walking, we went to Madinat Jumeirah. I never understood what it was, but for a taxi it was the most it.
09:00It's getting much warmer, I just try not to think about taxi prices.
< br />
We arrived at the shopping center, which is made in the form of an old city. We seemed to be in the cartoon Aladdin as the main characters. The walls and buildings are exactly the same, only instead of dates they sell some expensive and very pretentious junk. From the shopping center, we walked along the park area to the city beach. Passing along a seven-star sail and an equally cheap water park.
< br />
The cold sea seemed to reboot the whole body and a new surge of strength surged. And the most pretentious thing is to swim against the backdrop of a sail.
11:00Since the automated unmanned subway does not run in the morning on Friday, because the robots also need to rest, our route was greatly changed and shortened. We still had about a couple of hours of free time left, but the scorching sun directly hinted to us, “Guys, you have to go further. ” We did so, hailing a taxi and heading to the airport to complete our long layover.
In terms of the cost of staying per hour, the emirates have broken all our records.
