Nothing special was expected from the hotel. We planned to spend little time at the hotel. The main purpose of the trip is to visit the sights, walk around the city, relax on the beach.
On the first day we paid a hotel tax (70 dirhams for 1 room for 7 nights).
Room: the beds are normal, quite comfortable, the bedding is clean. The blanket only looked strange, in fact it is a thin blanket between two sheets that are not fixed to each other, which is not very convenient. The toilet and bathroom are quite good, there was no mold. The water pressure is excellent, the water is hot. I did not like the furniture in the room (table, wardrobe, bedside tables) - old design and in very poor condition. There was a small fridge in the room which is a plus. But a shelf. where the refrigerator is located is very dirty and dusty. The room was cleaned every day, but it was superficial cleaning (beds were made, towels were changed, the curtain in the bathroom was adjusted). The dust was not wiped off, the windows are dirty, it seems that they have not been washed for half a year.
The room is not hot. The air conditioner was turned on only 1-2 times. There was no music in the evenings / nights, so it was comfortable to fall asleep.
Breakfast: there were sausages, eggs every day, meatballs, cheese, bread, rice with vegetables, fried meat, milk, cereal, tea, coffee, watermelon, pineapple. We ate and did not want to eat until 2 in the afternoon. Personally, I did not like the spices in many dishes, quite specific. The dining room is dirty: dusty windows, cheap furniture, stained tablecloths. If you came to breakfast quite late and there was little food left, then they approached the staff who work in the dining room and asked to add food. They brought it unconditionally.
Many wrote in the reviews that bedbugs were noticed. We didn't have them in our rooms. But, there were cockroaches. We saw them repeatedly in room 512 and in the dining room (one ran straight along the sign "Pita restaurant" =))))
The advantage of the hotel is that it is really very close to the metro, less than 5 minutes walk. They don't take you to the beach from the hotel anymore. We went on our own to Al mamzar (there are paid and free beaches), by taxi. The price was different each time, depending on whether there were traffic jams or not, which way we went. Approximately 22-27 dirhams (155-190 UAH) one way. But, there were 5 of us, we got into 1 large taxi and therefore the money came out quite inexpensively.
In principle, despite the existing disadvantages of the hotel, it justifies its 2 stars (excluding cockroaches) and I would recommend staying there.
But in the end we were very disappointed. In the middle of the rest, I wanted to put on my silver pendant, but I couldn't find it. I looked in all the bags... it's nowhere. But, nevertheless, I had doubts... and, suddenly, it's my fault and I don't remember where I put it or maybe lost it. Did not contact the administrator. And when we began to collect bags and prepare for eviction, it turned out that my friend, who also lived in room 512, lost a gold chain with a pendant, a gold ring and 100 dollars. Then it was already clear that this was not a coincidence. We turned to the administration... it's useless, they didn't return anything, they just repeated a hundred times "We have such a policy that we don't steal" =)))) As if in some hotel they could say otherwise. And they also repeated. . . take a closer look. But, we really double-checked everything several times. Moved beds, raised rugs, etc. After all, a friend really had a shock, they robbed a large amount. Our fault is that we discovered the loss late and could not say on what day exactly it happened, to whom specifically to make claims ((
I was looking for an economy tour to Dubai, I always wanted to see this city, I know a lot about it, infrastructure, transport, places, etc.
It was not an option to go on a last-minute tour, since you need a visa, registration and all that, I didn’t want to risk the deadlines.
I read reviews about the hotel about cockroaches, bedbugs, mosquitoes and other insects . . In general, in my head I put together a route for all 5 days of my stay in Dubai and decided not to worry about the hotel, as I planned to just come in the evening tired and stupidly spend the night (in the end it was, but that's not the point).
And so . . transfer to the hotel, late evening, sleepy guys at the reception, who are clearly processing, the room was given immediately without any questions, but on the 6th floor. Immediately the first advice - take rooms on the upper floors, at least the 4th, because on the second floor every (or not every) night is a Pakistani disco, it will probably be difficult to fall asleep. I definitely heard the disco 3 times in 5 days.
The room is quite a modest cozy room, the view from the window is certainly not Khalifa, but for me, as I wrote above, this did not mean anything at all. Non-smoking rooms, no balcony, so you have to smoke in the room. There is a conder, though I only realized before leaving that it worked at 20 degrees all the time. There was no heat in the room, so I didn't bother about it.
Oh yes, don’t be alarmed upon arrival, you will be asked for a tourist tax, it depends on the star rating of the hotel and the number of nights. In this case, for 5 nights 10 dirhams per day, total 50 dirhams, little things.
Also, don't worry about passports. We arrived tired, issued a room, paid the tax, went to the room, settled down, and then I did not find our passports for a cigarette, we were completely tired, let them out of sight. Went down to the reception desk, they said "no problem". In general, the system is such that for your own safety, in terms of losing it, your passports remain in the safe below, you can come and pick it up at any time, this will not be banned, but I decided to leave it, you never know, I don’t want to lose my passport in the UAE either .
The location of the hotel is convenient, 5 minutes to the red metro line, a lot of bus routes pass nearby, including the Gold Market, only routes 5-7 go there.
Meals were included - breakfast, so they were never there, they slept after evening walks.
Wi-Fi is paid. 1 hour - 15 dirhams, 2 hours - 25 dirhams, 24 hours is also available, I don't remember the cost. A check is given with a login and password, it will not work from several devices at the same time, all the unused time remains "on the check". Log out at any time again Log In and continue to use.
We took an hour a day, in the morning for 15 minutes each updated mail, unsubscribed to those who needed it, in the evening the same way.
In general, I think my review helped in choosing a hotel and threw away all fears about the "horrors" of the Dubai deuce.
Satisfied with the hotel!
who is personally interested in my route in Dubai, fares, meals, etc. - write, I will be glad to help and advise.
In general, we had a very good opinion about this hotel, compared it with others and rejoiced, but in recent days we were still bitten by bedbugs. They are there, it's true ((( And never settle for a room below the 4th floor (music is very loud) 5-6th floor is ideal. Good luck! )))
